More About Our Bulk Billing Service

You may be entitled to medicare funding to see allied health professionals (this includes physiotherapists) through 2 different pathways. Each pathway allows the individual to access up to 5 appointments with allied health professions per year.

These 5 appointments may be split up e.g 2 appointments with a physiotherapist, 2 with a podiatrist and 1 with a diabetes educator.

Both of these pathways are accessed through your general practitioner (GP).

Any referral to physiotherapy through medicare is at the discretion of your treating GP who makes the decision based upon their reasoning and your individual health circumstances.

It is the GP who decides whether a referral via medicare is appropriate and how many sessions to allocate to each allied health professional.

Enhanced Primary Care Pathway Referral (EPC Referral)

Individuals with chronic health conditions may be entitled to receive up to 5 physiotherapy sessions with medicare funding per calendar year.

Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander Referral (ATSI TCA Referral)

Individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander may be entitled to receive up to 5 physiotherapy sessions with medicare funding per calendar year for any issue which may be treatable with physiotherapy

WE DO NOT CHARGE A GAP FEE ON OUR EPC AND ATSI TCA REFERRALS AT OUR CAIRNS CLINIC. IF THE REFERRAL IS VALID, IT IS BULK BILLED.

All patients with a valid EPC or ATSI TCA referral from their GP are eligible for bulk billing of all appointments regardless of the condition or the complexity of the case
We see all DVA card holders with no out of pocket feee.
Massage therapy can be completed on request
